Actually, it would make sense if Pein were Minato Namikaze.
1. One of Pein's forms is the nine-tailed, right?
2. The Akatsuki are out to free the Jinchuuriki from their demons, it would make sense since Pein is going after Naruto to relieve him of the fox. It's because he still wants to protect Naruto.
3. Pein is like that and looks that way because when he sealed the fox into Naruto, the excess power spilled into him. He wasn't sealed like Naruto and he was injured so the power easily took over him turning him evil but he is still concious and still cares about Naruto.

3. akatsuki is not trying to free the jinchurikis of the demons, they are trying to steal the demons' power
4. when a jinchuriki has their demon removed they die
5. tobi aka madara has been confirmed as the true leader of akatsuki
6. in the most recent manga it was revealed that nagato was from the uzumaki clan which means he was related to narutos mother, but not his father
